One of my 2024 goals is to listen to more podcasts. While I love music, I am finding myself becoming bored over time with what I listen to. It also feels too loud and distracting when doing work.
There are many benefits to listening to podcasts. Such as improving your mental health, opening up how think, or learning something new. I was always finding new podcasts but never spent the time listening to them. But that is changing. I have already spent hours listening to podcasts and noticed many of the above benefits.
If you also want to start listening to podcasts, here are some of my favorites.
Living with Ease
This is my current favorite podcast. I started following Callie Wilson on TikTok when she was a law student. My favorite thing was to join her study lives while I was studying. During breaks, she would talk about things going on in her life. It helped me get through finishing my degree. Which was also the same time she finished law school.
While I am sad there are no more study videos, I love listening to her new podcast. It is like sitting and listening to a friend talk. You get to hear what is going on in her life. She might be an influencer, but most of her content is relatable. There are lots of stories of relationships, turning her life around in her adult years, and daily adult things.
This is a great podcast if you need a casual talk to listen to. I love to listen to it while I am working.
Correct Opinions
This is the first podcast I started listening to. It has become one of my favorites over the years. I first started following Trey Kennedy when he was on Vine. Over the years, I have followed him through Instagram and TikTok. Recently, the podcast added Jake Triplett as cohost. Having the two makes the conversations even funnier.
The podcast is like listening to your guy friend or little brother say the dumbest things. And of course, their opinion is right. They spend a lot of time talking about trending headlines in social media. Followers also submit stories and other information for the hosts to talk about.
There is a lot of roasting in this podcast. The goal is to just laugh and not feel so serious about life. Which is why it is called Correct Opinions. They may be absurd, but who cares.
I love this podcast when I need a laugh or something that won’t make me think too hard.
The Really Good Podcast
I just started listening to this podcast last week. But after the second episode, I was laughing so hard. Bobbi Althoff started as a TikToker known for her seriousness when asking absurd things. Or hiding her child’s identity by saying their name is Concrete.
Now a podcaster, Bobbi brings that serious humor to her interviews. She interviews celebrities like Charlie Puth and Jessica Alba. During the interviews, she asks questions and then responds in ways that usually make the guest uncomfortable. Such as letting everyone know Jason Derulo was late to their interview. But is done in a fun way that makes everyone laugh.
It reminds me of watching a preschooler as someone whatever comes to mind, then asking why. The dryness of the interviews makes it so funny. I can see this podcast quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Office Ladies
If you love The Office, then you will love this podcast. It is hosted by two of the actors from the show. Jenna Fisher, who played Pam, and Angela Kinsey, who played Angela.
The podcast is a rewatch of the show. Each week, they rewatch an episode of the show and then share the behind the scenes. The best part is that they go in chronological order, starting with the first episode. So it is easy to watch and listen at the same time. Occasionally they bring on other actors or other cast to join.
I love learning about everything that happened during filming. Or how they were able to film some of the more complex scenes. They also talk about writing and producing some of the episodes.
This is a great podcast to learn more about the cast and show.
She Dreams All Day
This podcast is great if you are a blogger or influencer.
Mia Brox is a blogger who started by keeping quiet. While her blog was growing, no one knew who she was. After years, she finally let herself be seen. Which lead to a growth in her blog and social media. When I first started this blog, she was the one who helped me realize I could make it a cozy hobby. Not something that is focused on the money.
Her podcast talks about how to grow when you are an introvert. She also shares realistic stories about how long it took her to grow or see money. Her advice makes you feel less intimidated to reach your dreams.
I love this podcast (and her YouTube) because it shares a realistic view of everything.
Podcasts are a great way to replace things like music or TV
This is one new year goal that I am going to continue. If you have any recommendations of what I should listen to next, leave it below!
