This post shares the best sunflower photoshoot ideas
Photoshoots have always been a big part of my life. When I was younger my aunts would take us out for special photoshoots. As I got older it became something my sisters and I did. So as you can imagine, I have had lots of practice over the years of being in or taking photos.
Fall is my favorite time of year to take photos. The colors are beautiful, the lighting isn’t harsh, and you don’t have to worry about the temperature outside. We are still at the end of summer but now is the perfect time to start your fall photoshoots. And the best way to do that is with a sunflower photoshoot.
Here are some of my favorite sunflower photoshoot ideas and tips
Wear clothes that match the background
Clothing plays a big part in how your photo turns out. Make sure to wear clothes that either blend into the background or stick out in a complementary way.
Sunflower fields have a lot of green, yellow, orange, and brown. Great color options for this would be white, creamy whites, denim, burnt orange, tan, or green.
Interact with the sunflowers
Candid photos are my favorite as they look the most natural. If you scroll through Pinterest, you will see that the most popular photos have a candid feel to them. The best way to achieve this is by interacting with your background.
Play with the sunflower a little. Hold them, look at them, and even pick a few to take home! This will give a natural feel to your photos.
Take your photos during Golden Hour
Golden hour is the two hours after sunrise and the two hours before dusk. This is when you get that perfect golden lighting. Look at when the sun sets in your area and go two hours before that.
But don’t be afraid of other weather. Stormy weather can also give a great feel. Grey days also provide the most even lighting for your photos.
Don’t be afraid to take photos outside the sunflowers
Sunflowers are great and that’s why you came. But take photos with other things!
A lot of farms have animals or offer other photoshoot locations. Don’t be afraid to try these out because you might end up with your new favorite photo.
